Represented by the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, the President addressed stakeholders and industry leaders. He described the Assembly’s theme as both timely and vital to Nigeria’s development goals.

Engineering Regulation as a Tool for Public Safety
President Tinubu stressed that engineering plays a central role in national development. He explained that strict regulatory enforcement protects lives and ensures quality infrastructure delivery.

Tinubu infrastructure commitment also includes the completion of four Legacy Road Projects across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. These projects form a core part of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Similarly, COREN President, Prof. Sadiq Zubair Abubakar, outlined the Council’s regulatory role. He explained that engineering education and practice must meet global standards.
He also revealed that COREN has introduced digital systems. These tools aim to improve transparency and eliminate fraudulent practices.
Additionally, Prof. O. A. U. Uche called for collaboration among stakeholders. He stressed that infrastructure development requires joint efforts from government, academia, and the private sector.

The APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, also commended the government’s efforts. He praised the Ministry of Works for progress on major infrastructure projects.
He further acknowledged the professionalism of Nigerian engineers both locally and internationally.
