Nigerian entertainers and gospel musicians have paid tribute to gospel singer Olayemi Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, following his death, expressing grief over the loss and praying for his family.

The singer’s death sparked an outpouring of tributes from colleagues and fans on Wednesday, with many struggling to come to terms with the news and offering prayers for his wife, children and other relatives.

Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola, in a post on X, described the news as difficult to accept.

“Toluwanisings….. May your soul rest in peace this is a very hard pill to swallow,” she wrote.

Gospel singer Adeyinka Alaseyori also expressed her grief in a post on Instagram, writing, “Even in our pain, Lord we judge you faithful. It is well.”

Actress Omolara Dark described the late singer as her “dearest brother” and “best gospel musician”, adding, “Heaven gained an angel.”

She also expressed sorrow over his death and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.

Gospel singer Bidemi Olaoba said the loss had left her heartbroken but maintained her faith despite the pain and unanswered questions surrounding the death.

“Lord, we judge you faithful, even in moments like this when words fail us and our hearts are heavy.

“Even when we do not understand, we choose to trust You. Even through the tears, we hold on to Your unfailing love. Lord, we still judge You faithful,” she wrote.

Comedian and content creator Woli Agba, whose real name is Ayo Ajewole, described the singer’s death as a painful loss, recalling his distinctive voice and musical contributions.

“A VERY UNIQUE VOICE has dropped the microphone and walked off the stage just like that,” he wrote.

He added, “Toluwanisings, your departure has left a painful void in the hearts of many. It is difficult to understand, and even more difficult to accept.”

Woli Agba also prayed for God to comfort the singer’s family, friends, colleagues and fans.

Gospel singer Paul Tomisin remembered Toluwanisings for his humility and willingness to support fellow ministers, even when he was not scheduled to perform at their events.

“My team and I still spoke about how you were worshiping on Sunday and supporting everyone, even when you were not ministering at the event, and that’s just how your heart has always been! The heart of pure love and service to JESUS!” he wrote.

He added, “We judge God faithful and good! Rest in peace Egbon Toluwani.”

Another gospel singer, Dare Justified, described the death as a shock, saying he was struggling to believe the news.

“Such a rude shock… This one hits differently. It still feels so unreal,” he wrote.

He added, “Even in our pain, we judge You faithful, Lord. Rest well, God’s soldier. Until we meet again.”

Nollywood actress Jaiye Kuti also shared a video of himself singing Toluwanisings’ songs, accompanied by a tribute praying for the late singer to rest in peace.

Singer Pelumi Deborah, meanwhile, recalled spending time with him three days before his death, describing the loss as difficult to comprehend.

“Three days ago, we laughed. Today, you’re a memory. An unfinished conversation, a goodbye we never said, and a heart struggling to understand how quickly ‘see you later’ can become ‘rest in peace,’” she wrote.

She added, “Life is fragile! Oh, so painfully fragile. Till we meet again, Egbon T.”

Singer and entertainer Bimpe Akintunde, popularly known as Wasila Coded, expressed concern for the singer’s wife and children, praying that God would comfort them through the loss.

In an emotional tribute, she recalled hoping that he would recover but said she had accepted his death as an act of God.

PUNCH Online had reported that the singer’s family announced his death in a statement published on his TikTok account on Wednesday.

The statement identified him by his full name, Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, and said he died in the early hours of October 14, 2026.

It described him as a dearly loved husband and family member who served as a gospel minister under Toluwani Gospel Music Ministry, also known as TOGOMM.

The family appealed to the public to keep his wife, relatives and loved ones in their prayers, adding that funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.

Tributes have continued to pour in from colleagues, fans and members of the gospel music community following the singer’s death.
