Nigerian singer Olawale Ashimi, better known as Brymo, has sparked fresh conversations after making several personal revelations during a recent podcast interview. The Brymo married women claims emerged while the singer reflected on his early years in the music industry, his past relationships, and a memorable encounter he alleged involved music icon 2Baba and Annie Idibia.
He shared the stories during an episode of the NotJustOk podcast on YouTube. He said his experiences over the years changed his perspective on relationships and taught him lessons he believes younger entertainers should learn.
Brymo reflects on relationships with married women
During the interview, Brymo admitted that he became involved with several older women after achieving success with one of his breakthrough songs.
According to him, many of the women were married. However, they often told him they had separated from their husbands. Despite those explanations, Brymo said the experiences eventually convinced him that such relationships were risky.
He urged upcoming musicians to avoid romantic involvement with married women.
“I met quite a number of older women who were truly married. This goes to younger artistes, stop sleeping with people’s wives. They will cut your life short. They would tell me they were separated from their husbands.”
Brymo explained that his advice comes from personal experience rather than speculation. He said those relationships exposed him to situations that made him reconsider his decisions.
Singer recalls unusual invitation
Brymo also narrated an incident involving a married woman who invited him to perform at her sister’s wedding.
He said the invitation initially appeared straightforward. However, events took an unexpected turn after she asked him to visit her family home following the wedding ceremony.
The singer explained that he became uncomfortable when the woman informed him that her husband would also be present.
According to Brymo, he first believed she was referring to her father when she mentioned “our baba.” She later clarified that she meant her husband.
He said that revelation immediately changed his mind.
“She said, ‘Our baba will be there.’ I thought she meant her father, but she said, ‘No, my husband.’
“As far as I’m concerned, me going there to perform that night is me opening myself up for some crazy ritual. I just couldn’t take it, so I had to get out.”
Brymo added that he decided not to attend because he feared the situation could expose him to unknown risks.
Brymo recounts alleged 2Baba and Annie conversation
While discussing that experience, Brymo recalled another incident that he claimed happened in 2019.
According to the singer, the event took place at an office in Lekki Phase 1. He alleged that 2Baba directly asked his then-wife, Annie Idibia, whether she had ever been sexually involved with him.
Brymo described the moment as unforgettable.
“As at 2019, I remember that moment in Naomi’s office in Lekki Phase 1 when 2Face looked me square in the eye and asked Annie, ‘You don f*** Brymo?’
“I will never forget it. I am wicked, you people don’t know me.”
Brymo did not provide additional details about the conversation or what happened afterward.
Podcast comments spark fresh discussions
The interview has generated widespread reactions across social media, with fans debating Brymo’s revelations.
Although the singer spoke openly about his personal experiences, neither 2Baba nor Annie Idibia has publicly responded to the allegation contained in the interview at the time of writing.
Brymo remains known for expressing controversial opinions during interviews. His latest comments have once again placed him at the centre of entertainment discussions.
The Brymo married women claims have attracted significant public attention following his appearance on the NotJustOk podcast. During the interview, the singer reflected on his past relationships, advised younger artistes against getting involved with married women, and recounted an alleged encounter involving 2Baba and Annie Idibia.
As reactions continue online, the claims remain Brymo’s personal account. No public response has yet been issued by those mentioned regarding the allegation.
