“He was invited to Akure. A Yoruba proverb says, ‘Omo eni ku, o san ju omo eni sonu lo,’ meaning a dead child is better than a missing or lost child.”
The gospel singer said the family’s search has continued for 26 years without any breakthrough.
Children now ask about their grandfather
Remilekun also spoke about another painful aspect of the experience.
According to him, his children frequently ask questions about the grandfather they have never met.
Those conversations, he admitted, remind him of the painful reality that his father disappeared without a trace.
“Twenty-six years counting now. My children are asking me to tell them about grandpa. No one can feel the pain more than the victim, which is me.”
