The parliamentary opposition group delivered a highly critical assessment of national governance on Wednesday at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja. Specifically, the intense public address highlighted that minority reps criticize Tinubu administration over security failures while demanding immediate corrective policies. Minority Leader of the House, Mr. Fred Agbedi, spoke firmly on behalf of the coalition during a scheduled media briefing. Furthermore, the concerned lawmakers expressed deep sorrow regarding the ongoing captivity of various school children and teachers in Oyo State. To correct these deep administrative issues, the vocal coalition urged the presidency to unveil a comprehensive defense strategy immediately. They demanded improved welfare packages for frontline military personnel, better intelligence-gathering systems, and a complete overhaul of national defense networks. They argued that the sudden removal of fuel subsidy and the floating of the naira generated hyperinflation without appropriate social protections. From Sokoto to Lagos, everyday families are experiencing extreme hunger, diminishing purchasing power, and deep despair. Thus, the caucus challenged the executive leader to declare a strict six-month national security and economic recovery plan. Ultimately, opposition leaders like Mansur Soro and Abdussamad Dasuki vowed to keep utilizing legislative instruments to hold the government fully accountable.
