Harnessing Divine Power: A Review of “501 Life-Changing Prayer Bullets

Oluwasogo Faloye
Prayer is a conversation between a father and his child. This time, the father is the King of Kings and the son or daughter has been assigned to destroy dark forces and dominate the earth as a territory of God. We take on His likeness when we reach into the heavens constantly carrying his aura and glory like Moses. The Bible tells us that when Moses returned from Mount Sinai after spending days in the presence of God, he had to use a veil to cover his face. He became too powerful to behold (Exodus 34:29-35).
Prayer is also a weapon. The Bible clearly states that we wrestle not with flesh and blood but with principalities and powers in high places in Ephesians 6:12. This connotes that the struggles that we face are deeply spiritual. We cannot control the portals of our vision and destiny if we do not use the weapons of holiness, faith, prayer, and gratitude. Therefore, it goes beyond a conversation, it is an empowerment of the spirit. God’s overflowing power and grace flow into our spirit when we constantly engage him.
Crucially, prayer is humility. You are telling God to take charge and telling him you cannot do it alone. In a competitive and combative world where many people seek diabolical means to emerge victorious while oppressing others, prayer is the embargo that you place on the forces of darkness every day.
Beyond the days of woe and fear, the Yoruba elders say, the incident of pain and anguish needs prayer, likewise, the celebratory moments need more prayer. Therefore, your prayer life must be guided and consistent as you navigate through the vicissitudes of life.
Prayer is the master key. For unbelievers, the world is uncertain and a fearful place to live, which brings overwhelming desperation and depression, but for a faithful Christian, prayer activates the angels to go before them, to secure them, to prepare the table in the presence of their enemies, and to shower them with the anointing of favour and victory.
The book, “501 Life-Changing Prayer Bullets by Prophetess Sandra Jenkson,” Published in August 2024 by Biskol Ventures, is a rare compendium. The book is inspired by the Holy Spirit and provides clear instructions to those who realise the need to correct faulty foundations, make the right decisions in the present time, and invest in their future.
Sandra is a full-time minister and the founder of Jesus Insurance Tabernacle, a calling that has continued to impact many lives in God across the globe for more than a decade. The Pentecostal ministry is steadfast in spreading the gospel of Jesus in homes, impressing upon members a life of holiness, helping them to discover their unique gifts in God, and empowering children of God to become their own prophets.
Prophetess Sandra does not mince words—without holiness, faith, meditating on His word, engaging in an intimate and personal relationship, and reclusing oneself from the flesh and distractions through fasting, prayers may reach the ceiling without reaching the heavens. This is stated clearly in the first chapter of the prayer book.
True to character, the book harnesses and distills verses that can be wielded during private and corporate prayer services. These verses called “Backup scriptures” highlight the majesty and omnipresence of God, the existing promises of God concerning our lives, and give credence to praise, seeking forgiveness, and total submission and reliance on God. Jesus taught us through his words and actions that prayer deepened by the scriptures is effective because God honours his words and not a speck of his word will remain unfulfilled.
There are also “Backup songs” which not only remind us of the efficacy of praise but also the need to use warfare songs to build confidence and diminish the roaring noise of the enemy.
The core of the book is the compilation of 501 carefully selected and crafted prayer points that can serve as helmets, shields, arrows, and swords at any time of the day. Although they are called “Mixed Prayer Bullets, ” an analytical mind can conceive a clear pattern of messages in the compilation.
The importance of total surrender to His will, the need to seek mercy from the throne of grace, warfare prayers backed by the Word, and the urgent need not to base one’s prayers only on the ephemerality of one’s needs but for heaven and a true concern for the expansion of his kingdom on earth. A lot of the prayers also seem borne from years of spiritual counseling, deliverance, and prayer programmes in Nigeria and the Diaspora. Although the back story is silent, they are realistic vehicles for restoration, empowerment, enrichment, enlargement, and sanctification.
According to the book, Ten Prayer Nuggets for Leading Others in Prayer by Lloyd Van Vuuren, founder of the Concert of Prayer for Scotland, Jesus prioritised prayer and removed himself from the crowd, disappointed people to pray [Matthew 14:23, Mark 1:35-37, Luke 5:15-16,] to prioritise prayer [Matt 26:36, Luke 6:12, Luke 18:1]. He said that both private and corporate prayers are important to increase one’s faith, syncronise his will for the church of God, and build a vibrant and fulfilled life. He encouraged us to preserve instead of being downcast.
It seems both Prophetess Sandra in Nigeria and Vuuren in Scotland shared notes—his nuggets align with the mixed prayer bullets. He stated in his book. Pray the promises of God, Pray the truths of the Bible, pray the prayers of the bible, cry to God and personalise any verse of the bible, pray for the glory of God to be made manifest, instead of lamenting about a situation, pray about it, Prayer is a conversation, wait on him and listen for a response.
In corporate prayers, let the congregation get involved by agreeing and saying amen. Instructively, the book stated that Corporate Prayer is to build a community of God’s warriors. While corporate prayer sessions are important and can spur private prayers, a private relationship with God will also enhance corporate prayer.
The book should be a staple and a bible companion for all Christians. It unpacks a rich and intimate banquet with God and helps his children to table their requests acceptably.
