The strategic Bismarck Rewane FCMB appointment as a non-executive director and chairman of the board of directors is now official. The newly appointed chairman is a highly respected economist and a deeply experienced leader within Nigeria’s financial sector. He brings more than 40 years of profound expertise in corporate governance, investment banking, and strategic management. Currently, he serves diligently as the managing director at Financial Derivatives Company Limited. This enterprise is widely recognized as a top financial advisory and economic research firm.

Furthermore, he is a distinguished Fellow of the Nigerian Economic Society. He previously held several critical leadership roles at International Merchant Bank Nigeria Limited and First National Bank of Chicago. He graduated successfully from the prestigious University of Ibadan with a bachelor’s degree in Economics. Additionally, he is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.

The veteran economist also holds an Associate status with the Institute of Chartered Bankers of England and Wales. He has served productively on the boards of multiple blue-chip companies and prominent multinational corporations. His extensive corporate portfolio includes roles at Guinness Nigeria Plc., British American Tobacco, and Henkel Nigeria Limited. He also contributed his skills to Top Feeds Nigeria Limited and Africa Infrastructure Plus Partners.

On a national level, he served as an active member of the Presidential Steering Committee for the Resolution of the Global Economic Crisis. He completed various advanced executive management programs at some of the world’s finest business schools. These institutions include the Euromoney Institute of Finance and IMD Lausanne in Switzerland. He also studied within the competitive Oxford International Capital Markets program.
