Nollywood filmmaker Funke Akindele has announced her new movie, The Four: No One Fights Alone, with the film set to hit cinemas worldwide on December 11, 2026.
The announcement comes after another successful run at the box office for the award-winning actress, producer and director. Her latest project continues her strong record of bringing commercially successful Nigerian stories to the big screen.
Produced by Funke Akindele Network (FAAN TV), The Four will receive worldwide theatrical distribution from FilmOne Entertainment.
The new drama explores friendship, motherhood, resilience and the strength women find in one another. It follows Esosa and three loyal women as they fight to secure the future of a young man they deeply care about.
Their journey pushes their courage, faith and loyalty to the limit.
Set across the picturesque Odu Community and the busy city, The Four blends family, culture and human relationships into an emotional story.
The production also highlights Nigeria’s cultural identity through music, fashion, language and tradition. Its story focuses on hope, sacrifice and the power of unity.
The cast brings together several major names from Nollywood and the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Funke Akindele leads the cast alongside Bisola Aiyeola, Chioma Akpotha, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Timini Egbuson, Lateef Adedimeji and Ali Nuhu.

The film also features Uzor Arukwe, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Antar Laniyan and Wunmi Toriola. Award-winning singer Waje and Afrobeats artiste Shoday also join the cast.
Entertainment personalities Samuel Banks, Kolapo Omotosho and Ayomide Iwasokun are also part of the production.
Speaking about the project, Akindele said audiences now expect films that entertain while reflecting their experiences and identity.
She explained that The Four explores relationships that shape people, challenge them and remain important throughout their lives.
The filmmaker also expressed hope that viewers would see aspects of themselves in the story.
Funke Akindele has established herself as one of the biggest commercial forces in African cinema. Her filmography includes Omo Ghetto: The Saga, Battle on Buka Street, A Tribe Called Judah, Everybody Loves Jenifa and Behind The Scenes.
Several of her productions have broken Nigerian box-office records and strengthened her reputation as one of Nollywood’s most influential filmmakers.
With The Four, Akindele is once again bringing together a major ensemble cast for a story centred on family, friendship and resilience.
