The leadership announcement showcases the professionals steering the company’s expansion across electric mobility, renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure. Together, they have helped deploy more than 2,150 electric vehicles, installed over 7MWh of decentralised solar systems and mobilised over ₦20 billion in clean energy investments nationwide.
QORAY introduces leaders behind its vision
QORAY Mobility & Energies appointed founder and Chief Executive Officer Olabanjo Alimi to lead the organisation alongside co-founders Akinkunmi Akingbogun, Vice President of Mobility, and Ayo Falola, Vice President of Renewable Energy.
According to the company, the leadership team combines extensive experience from Nigeria’s banking, energy and mobility sectors. Their goal is to accelerate Africa’s transition to cleaner transportation and sustainable energy solutions.
Speaking on the company’s mission, Alimi said QORAY aims to promote inclusive growth through innovation, partnerships and community engagement.
“Our mission is to drive Africa’s transition to clean energy and sustainable mobility through community, innovation, and partnerships. QORAY exists to power progress sustainably and inclusively.”
The company explained that its founders previously played key roles in developing Nigeria’s renewable energy and electric mobility ecosystem before launching QORAY.
Experienced executives lead ambitious expansion
Alimi built QORAY at the intersection of renewable energy, transportation and finance. Before founding the company, he served as Divisional Head of Renewable Energy and Mobility at Sterling Bank. He also held executive positions at Eterna PLC, Enyo Retail & Supply and Oando Marketing, now known as NNPC Retail.
Throughout his career, he managed energy portfolios valued at more than $400 million. The company said his experience continues to shape projects that expand energy access, encourage green innovation and create employment opportunities.
Meanwhile, Vice President of Mobility Akinkunmi Akingbogun brings over 20 years of professional experience in engineering, banking and sustainable transportation.
He holds qualifications in Civil Engineering, Water and Environmental Engineering and Business Marketing. In addition, he completed the Senior Management Programme at Lagos Business School. He is also a COREN-certified engineer and belongs to the Nigerian Society of Engineers.
Before joining QORAY, Akingbogun worked at OVH Energy and Sterling Bank, where he supervised mobility and renewable energy projects.
Under his leadership, QORAY’s Electric Teak tricycle earned a Guinness World Record after travelling 347.11 kilometres within 12 hours. The company has also expanded electric tricycle deployment across several parts of Nigeria.
Speaking about the company’s direction, Akingbogun said:
“Our focus at QORAY is creating accessible mobility solutions that redefine how Africa moves — sustainably, efficiently, and affordably.”
Renewable energy remains central to growth
Co-founder and Vice President of Renewable Energy Ayo Falola oversees the company’s renewable energy division.
Falola has more than 14 years of experience across banking, logistics, energy and sustainability. At QORAY, he manages energy financing, distributed solar projects and partnerships that improve electricity access for businesses and underserved communities.
The company credited him with leading the deployment of more than 7MWh of decentralised solar systems throughout Nigeria.
Falola believes commercial success and environmental sustainability can work together.
“We’re proving that sustainability and profitability are not opposites; they’re partners in progress. QORAY is where innovation meets impact.”
Major milestones strengthen QORAY’s position
Since its launch, QORAY has recorded several achievements in Nigeria’s clean energy sector.
The company says it has deployed more than 2,150 locally assembled electric vehicles across the country. It has also manufactured and installed over 7MWh of decentralised solar systems.

Other milestones include establishing Nigeria’s largest electric vehicle charging and battery swap network. The company also developed the country’s first publicly accessible EV charging station.
Furthermore, QORAY trained more than 100 local technicians through its Green Upskill programme. It also launched Cabzero, Nigeria’s first all-electric business-to-business leasing and ride-hailing platform, which now operates over 100 electric vehicles.
According to the company, these initiatives have reduced carbon emissions by more than 180.8 metric tons.
QORAY currently operates across electric vehicle manufacturing and trading, renewable energy systems, and logistics and mobility services.
