The newly elected leadership of the Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN), Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) branch, has made improved workers’ welfare a priority, urging the agency’s management to accelerate approval and implementation of its proposed Conditions of Service.
The union said better employment conditions would strengthen staff confidence, improve productivity and help maintain industrial harmony within the agency.
Its newly elected branch chairman, Ekip Eso, made the position known over the weekend during the inauguration of the branch’s new executive at the NAMA headquarters annex in Lagos.
Eso called for urgent action on the new Conditions of Service (CoS), describing its implementation as a key priority for the union.
Beyond welfare demands, the new leadership also expressed its readiness to work with NAMA management to tackle operational challenges confronting the agency, particularly inadequate funding.
The association pledged to support efforts aimed at addressing these concerns while continuing to advocate better welfare packages and improved working conditions for employees.
According to the union, cooperation between labour and management would be essential to resolving institutional challenges and sustaining a productive working environment.
The call places workers’ welfare and the agency’s operational needs at the centre of the new executive’s agenda as it begins its tenure
