The Head of Treasury at Dangote Cement Plc, Omode Emmanuel Oladimeji, has acquired 986 ordinary shares in the company valued at N996,491.01.
The transaction, disclosed to the Nigerian Exchange Limited and the investing public, was executed on the floor of the market in Lagos on 4 May 2026.
According to a regulatory filing titled “NOTIFICATION OF SHARE DEALING BY INSIDERS” and signed by the company’s Secretary, Edward Imoedemhe, the purchase was made in two tranches.
The first transaction involved “263 UNITS OF SHARES AT #1,008.15 PER UNIT,” while the second involved “723 UNITS OF SHARES AT #1,013.13 PER UNIT”.
The 986 shares were acquired at a volume-weighted average price of N1,010.64 per share.
The filing was categorised as an initial notification of insider dealing under Rule 111 of the NGX Rules Governing Director and Insider Dealings.
The rule requires listed companies to disclose share transactions conducted by directors and other insiders as part of market transparency and corporate governance requirements.

The latest purchase adds to the transactions involving insiders that are closely monitored by investors and equity analysts.
Insider purchases are often viewed as an indicator of management or employee confidence in a company’s future performance, although such transactions do not by themselves guarantee future share-price gains.
Dangote Cement is Sub-Saharan Africa’s largest cement producer and is listed on the Nigerian Exchange.
