Alex Iwobi has learned a lot of hard lessons on his way from being Arsenal’s scapegoat to being a key player at Fulham. It’s not just about switching teams or strategies; it’s also about how every little thing you do in the Premier League can be blown out of proportion.

Iwobi was a promising young player for Arsenal in 2018. A few days before a game, he went to a close friend’s birthday party. It was just a night out with friends for him. But after Arsenal lost that game, the news turned his night out into a much bigger and more dramatic story.

“I remember getting in trouble just for going to a birthday party,” Iwobi said. “I had no idea about the 72-hour rule, and then it was all over the news.”

Even though he played well and even helped score a goal, people weren’t paying attention to him; they were focused on the party. It was a harsh lesson in how closely people watch you when you wear the Arsenal badge.

Iwobi says that things are different at Fulham. The pressure is real, but it’s more even, and mistakes aren’t as big of a deal. He says, “At Arsenal, you can be blamed for anything.” “It seems like the club and the press are looking for someone to blame.”

Iwobi learned a lot from talking to Arsène Wenger, Arsenal’s legendary manager, who told him about the pressure and responsibility that come with being in the public eye. Iwobi remembers, “He told me to be careful because people are always watching, especially when you’re at a club like Arsenal.”

He still remembers that advice and it has changed how he works now. He is much more disciplined now. He doesn’t go out at night before games and instead focuses on being the professional he wants to be. Iwobi is now 29 years old and a key player for Fulham. He plays regularly and helps the team push for European football.

The news about his personal life has died down, and he has finally found a place where his game and hard work are the main focus. Sometimes, the most surprising places teach us the most important lessons, like a birthday party that made the news. But for Alex Iwobi, this lesson has changed everything.
