Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has come under criticism in Turkey following Galatasaray’s difficult encounter with Samsunspor. The Super Eagles forward faced scrutiny after former Beşiktaş midfielder Sinan Engin questioned his recent performances and decisions on the pitch.

Although Victor Osimhen provided an early assist in the match, the game later became tense for Galatasaray as pressure increased in the title race.

Galatasaray began the match on a positive note, with Osimhen helping create the opening goal. The Nigerian striker assisted Yunus Akgun just eight minutes into the game.

The early goal gave supporters hope that Galatasaray would secure a comfortable victory and move closer to the league title.

However, Samsunspor responded quickly. Marius Mouandilmadji and Cherif Ndiaye helped shift momentum as Galatasaray struggled to stay in control of the match.

Galatasaray’s problems increased in the second half when goalkeeper Günay Güvenç was sent off for handling the ball outside the penalty area. Reports suggested the incident came after a misplaced back pass involving Osimhen.

Following the match, former Beşiktaş midfielder Sinan Engin openly criticised the Nigerian striker during an appearance on Beyaz Futbol.

Engin praised Osimhen’s contributions this season but insisted that no player is bigger than Galatasaray. He also claimed the striker had recently shown frustration during matches.

According to Engin, Osimhen has argued with referees, reacted poorly toward teammates, and made careless decisions on the field.

Despite the criticism, the Nigerian international continues to deliver strong attacking numbers for the Turkish giants.

Osimhen has either scored or assisted in each of his last eleven league appearances for Galatasaray. His consistency remains important to the club’s title ambitions this season.

As the campaign enters its final stage, many fans will watch closely to see how Osimhen responds to the growing criticism in Turkey.
